About the Artist
Mikaela Roach is an aspiring country music singer/songwriter from Lake Dore, Ontario. She has been singing since she can remember, and formally started taking vocal lessons when she was 7 years old. Mikaela has been playing the piano and the guitar since the ages of 6 and 9 respectively. She has been performing on stage in local theatre productions since she was 7 years old. She started playing music independently at venues in December of 2022. She has performed at local restaurants, fairs, festivals, private events, and more. Mikaela went to Nashville in March of 2024, after placing second in the Global Country Star Search competition, in the 13-17 year old age division. In Nashville, she took part in a singer/songwriter bootcamp, explored music city and also competed in the North American Country Music Association Competition in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Not only did she fall in love with Tennessee, but at the competition she won “Most Promising Vocalist”, “Most Promising Entertainer”, and “Song of the year” for her original song that she wrote, “The Cowboy Runs.” This song was played on Pembroke’s radio station Pure Country 96.7 a few months ago. Mikaela enjoys writing songs and has a plethora of music she would love to someday release. This past summer, Mikaela competed at the Palmer Rapids Twin Music Festival Idol Talent Competition, and placed first overall. Following this, she played on the main country stage the next evening as an opening act. Mikaela has become a renowned young talent across the Ottawa Valley and loves music and performing more than anything. She has dreamt of becoming a country music artist since childhood and finds peace and eternal happiness in the simplicity of song.
